"I'm not obligated to do that"

Periodically, I will use a drive through car wash. I don't like to. I prefer to wash it myself. But sometimes, I'm just not in the mood. Like when my back is hurting. So I'll roll through one of the two local car washes. Now it's down to one.

Drove through the "Pirates Cove" car wash on Culebra in San Antonio the other day. I paid for my wash, and kept some cash out. I usually hand a few bucks to the guy or gal with the scrub-brush, as I ask them if they can ensure my back window gets hit. The auto-washes never seem to get the back window of a truck.

So I roll down my window and ask, "Hey man... would you mind scrubbing my back window really well?"

    His response?

"I'm not obligated to do that". Then he put the brush down and motioned me into the wash.

So I put my cash back in my wallet and drove through... Not returning either.

Really? "I'm not OBLIGATED to do that". Kind of an odd choice of words for a lazy dude.

OK. I feel better now. Got that off my chest.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I feel your pain. Used to get a pretty good wash and inside wipe-out at the one in Tyler. Used to.

Look at all the money that one sentence saved you. Why do more when less pays the same...

Sounds like honesty wasn't rewarded in this case

Guess you'll need to wash the rig yourself. Seems like you knew that's the best option anyway.

That's why the guy's best employment opportunity is a car wash.

The one at 281 and Evans road does a great job. Only carwash I will go to.

                Cajuntec,

Can we set up a gofundme page to help?

It's not your week in the service/gratuity related industry.

Call the manager or even better the owner. We have become to soft and the liberal mindset is winning. I would do all I could to see that the owner had an opportunity to correct that kind of bull crap.

By just complaining here he wins.

Ha! Got me laughing this morning. Thank you!
Actually, I didn't have a problem at Willies, and I tipped 15% that day. I had brought up that tipping conversation just because I had started thinking about the differences between that place and other similar establishments that I hadn't tipped at before.

                          But about this gofundme page....

I saw the manager as I was coming out the wash, and stopped and told him about the conversation. He sighed heavily and said "I'll talk to him." I doubt he even mentioned it. But I agree - If they don't know about it, they won't fix it.
