    Surf Forecast

Things are looking right to try and snag some yellow mouthed snaggle tooths this weekend. Anyone else headed down to give it a go?

I'll be giving it a go Saturday.

I'll be down there. Just look ten yards to your right on Saturday and that will be me.

Fishing the surf masters and also hall of fame tournament this weekend. Things look to be shaping up nicely !! Mostly will be targeting shark and reds though.

So outside of the obvious of fishing in the surf, how do you know where at to fish along the coast in the surf? Is there anykind of structure outside of guts? I've never done it but want to give it a try, just don't know where to start....

Very little structure. You're looking for bait or birds.

Bait, birds, and washouts as I call them. Every couple of hundred yards or so the water that comes on the beach has to go back out. There will be a gut that is perpendicular to the shoreline that will cut through the other parallel guts. These are good spots to blind fish. An excellent illustration of this is the Rip Tide warnings you see everywhere. Dangerous yes, but fish will stack up there.

I am heading to Rockport today. Will be doing some bay fishing Thursday and Friday, then heading to PINS to surf fish Saturday.

I'll be down Friday-Sunday on Bolivar. Don't know a dang thing about fishing the salt but I always try it anyway. I'll be honest, I'm rarely successful.

What site do you use for wave forecast?

I'd like to hit the surf with the fly rod a couple times this summer.
