We would report him but the damage is already done. And were planning to offer the owner so much for the whole place next year for just us to hunt and if she doesn't like the offer were leaving.

If I had a lot of money tied into a lease out west I couldn't let that slide. We have a guest rule at our place and everybody follows it or their out.

this is the main reason im shady about just jumping on a lease that already has guys on it....your never sure what your gonna get and alot of times theres one in every bunch.

Who is running the lease? You? someone else? Whoever that person is, needs to take care of this.....If no one is running it, (no manager) then get everyone together to elect one. If someone is running the lease then you have two options, take it for what the lease is or leave....

If they are killing 5 bucks a year that you know about on 500 acres it is not the land that is keeping them from growing a trophy!! It is them!

Guess he was right. Draw up your own lease form to cater to your special issues. That way if something like this happens you have a leg to stand on. It is hard with family, but a jerk is a jerk. This guy and who ever brought him should be ashamed. I think when it comes to hunting you have to hit people in the pocket book to get their attention. Guys used to screw up and shoot bucks that were not yet mature at our place. Started the "Check Book" policy and that has not happened in 5 years.

I used to live in Crystal City a while back, and there was a place called Popeyes. they served some of the best meskin food in town to me . there was also a breakfast taco place in the middle of town across the plaza from the movie theater that was good too . ahh the memories.

Nothing you can do now.

A contract. Make the members sign a contract with the lease agreement.
One buck per year or fine.
Visitors do not shoot bucks or that is considered the host's ONE buck.

Got to have it in writing. If that doesn't work and it still bothers you then you need to find another place to hunt.

First off if they really in fact do this, and your witness and say nothing, that my friend is all your fault. AND YOU are JUST as GUILTY as they are for not reporting them, I'd be calling the GW and turning thier worthless hides in. I've never had a lease but I do know this, people WILL DO whatever THEY want until someone makes it very clear it won't be tolerated. Then they will do it behind your back, unless they stand the chance of being caught, and having to face conciquinces.sp?

Im on a little lease in Crystal City about 500 acres, and anyways last year there were three of us on the place and the old man got off cause he was getting tired of the place. Then he made the comment that he could hunt down here for free instead of pay( which isnt true cause were probably better friends with the owner then him). So he got off and this year theres only 2 of us.... at least thats what i thought..... So our other hunters (which we consider worthless) because they do NOTHING, and shoot multiple bucks per year though were only allowed 1 per.
So as usual we wernt able to make it last weekend but we know the other hunters did, and like always they did not call us to give us a update or anything so we assumed the usual that they propabaly kill a few does and possibly a buck. Though today i recieved a call from a friend that his dad heard that our ex hunter kill a decent 140ish 22in wide 10 (though for this place its a trophy because our bucks there seem to lack the potential to grow into monsters)So of course i asked were he harvested it i recieved the reply tha he shot it off MY LEASE THAT HE IS NO LONGER ON OR PAYING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though theres nothing that I can really do; the owners live over 7hrs away, but the worst part is hes family .... and the other paided hunters took him down there and allowed him to shoot it!!!!!!! Yet they wont count it as their "buck", so i guess there trying to beat there record of 5 bucks last year........

If I am correct the most anyone can kill(5 deer county) is two bucks, legally anyway. In case you are un-aware, the Game wardens in Texas have the right to enter your home if they only suspect you have illegal game in your home. They don't have to have proof, or so I've been told. I may be wrong.

I'm kinda confused about the story.
You are on a rather small lease, and dont know how many members there are?
Then you find out there are other members but dont know the rules about guests and harvest limits of guests?
Or they do know but willfully disobey them.

What ARE the rules for guests?

Sounds to me like you should find out how many people are on your lease, what the rules of the lease are, and penalties for not following them.

May need to find a new lease.

I know I wouldn't want to pay for a lease if I knew someone would let me come hunt for free.
