Just go have fun and enjoy something different and give people the same respect you would want them to show you. Nothing beats killin em with kindness. Portland has a lot of great food and craft beer and the natural beauty in the area is awesome. I definitely recommend going hiking at some of the state parks. We went up there a couple of years ago and hung out with an old friend who is a full blown hippie and had a really great time and everyone got along.

Well Portland blows. We did go see some nice huge waterfalls. Then we had to drive from south of Portland to just north of it..Blah! Worse than Austin ever could be.

But I avoided all political talk. Never once turned on a TV. Just hung out with my family. And did go play poker once. They can't play poker very well. Wish it was closer for that reason only.
