quick question for the green screen...the owner of the ranch we lease has a beautiful tank thats 5 or 6 acres currently. couple years ago at the height of the drought you could throw a baseball across it. well he lost pretty much all his fish and is wanting to stock some minnows for bait and potentially some small bass and bluegill. is there anyone you could recommend that would come out and fill the tank for him? its about 12 miles south of Albany and 6 miles west of Moran. thanks in advance for your responses...

If your going the bass route I would stock bait this year and bass next year.
If he wants to do it all this year stock bigger bait and smaller bass.
Call Arms fish farm they aren't too far from you. I am not real sure who is running it since Harrell passed away.Last edited by txwhitetail; 05-30-2017, 12:37 PM.

To do it right starting from scratch and one stocking... This is what I would do based on Overton fish farm ( that's who we used) ...
Fathead Minnows 200lbs... Cost $2000
Coppernose Bluegills (5000) ..... $1750
Red ear sunfish.. 1000... $600
Native Largemouth Bass .. 500... $750
Channel Catfish ( optional) .. 250... $188
This would give you a foundation for a solid fishery foundation.. But as you can see it's expensive. Approx $5300 for a 5 acre tank/lake. Maybe work a deal with landowner on off setting each members lease cost to pay for building a solid fishery
