I'm wanting to rid up a 12v flood light that will illuminate my camp all night for fishing and hunting. I was thinking a light bar of some kind but not sure it would burn all night. Any ideas would be appreciated.

LED's use MUCH less power.
Are you going to run them off of car batteries? If so how many?
If your going to use car batteries, I would definitely use quality deep cycle batteries so you can fully recharge them every time after a complete discharge.
You can calculate it by...
5 bulbs
5w bulb
12v/ 85ah battery
bulb is 5w / 12v = 0.42 amps each
Total of five bulbs would make that 2.1 amps drawn
So battery life being Ah/Amps would be 85 ah / 2.1 amps , comes out to 40.5 hours

An LED strip of lights would be better. They won't pull as much power as a light bar will, it won't be quit as bright as a light bar, but will put out plenty of light nonetheless. You can get them in rolls that are 15' long. I usually have some of those on hand but am out of stock on them at the moment.

Might want to check out our Exterminator II feeder light with White LED's.
This is a complete solar light setup with a big 20 watt solar panel and 12v 18AH battery, solar charge controller and remote. It has 3 individual LED heads that can be aimed in the direction you want light and all three LED's can be focused from a wide flood beam to a narrow spot beam. This light will run at full power for about 30 straight hours without the solar panel hooked up. The light is designed to run at low power when your not there and then you can turn it up with the remote control or manually from inside the light or you can turn it off if you want while your not there. This means the battery will be fully charged when you go to turn it up. You could run this light at full power 8 hours a night for a week straight no problem as long as the solar panel is hooked up and it gets good sun during the day. I attached some pictures to give you a idea of what it is capable of. In the first pic you can see the feeder light in the bottom left of the picture and it is 20 yards from the feeder. In the second pic both the camera and feeder light are 100 yards from the deer decoy. In the last pic you can see what it looks like set up using a 2 inch metal fence post. Everything comes with it except the fence post. As always, we give a 10% discount to TBH members, if interested, just send me a PM and I will send you the coupon code.

The main thing it will be used for is night time surf fishing so I'll need it to illuminate a large area. Plan on mounting whatever I go with on a pole about 10ft off the ground. Planning to run it off a car battery and will need it to last 10hrs or so.Last edited by sharkhunter; 05-30-2017, 11:39 AM.
