    Question For The Cigar Guys

My pops turned 50 yesterday and has recently started enjoying a cigar every now and then. What is a good one to get him?

We have a local specs and another liquor store that sells them but I am limited to that.

    Thanks

A lot goes into this as it comes down to personal preference on flavor.

I like Acid Blondie and Arturo Fuente Spanish Light

If you have to get it today, I really dont kow what to tell you. If its a few days away, then I get alot of mine from cigarsinternational.com
When I am overseas i always order from them and cigarbid.com. They are brother and sister companies.
Cigarsinternational.com ships super fast and the cigars have always been fresh when I get them... I do buy boxes at a time. I usually smoke 2 per day (not of the expensive ones though)...but if its a slow day, I could make it to 4 pretty easy....

As Daniel32 said though... it all comes down to personal preference. I dont really like flavored cigars at all so I stay away from Drew Estates as all of them are flavored. Here are a few that I think are great!

1.Oliva V Series - Full bodied Usually about $8-$10 per stick
      2. A Fuente Hemingway - Med-Full bodied and about $8-$12
      3. Alec Bradley Tempus Maduro - Full bodied $7-$10
      4. 5 Vegas A Series - Full bodied - about $5
      5. Oliva Serie V Melanio - about $10

You cant really go wrong whith any of the Rocky Patel cigars, I like their Sun Grown line of cigars.

Those are 5 for my favorite... not my top 5 though ... I did have a Padron Family Reserve once, it was soooo good, but way to expensive to have more of them... at lease for me.

Honestly if he is still getting into smoking he will not notice the difference in cigars. The major difference is going to be defined as Mild or not so Mild. What is easy to distinguish is spicy or not. But most everything else is generally too new for him to taste the difference.

I have been smoking since 1996 and can honestly say that I did not start to truly tell the little difference until I averaged 6 or so cigars a week. I don't believe that you memory is good enough until your taste buds can get past the heavy smoke that a cigar puts off

With that said you will be fine with any name brand cigar. Doesn't really help but that I would add my 2 pennies

Hard to beat these two. Both great with a good scotch or Irish whiskey.

I am burning a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 right now. Just finished mowing and sitting here with my feet in the pool. [emoji3] This is the first time I have had this particular Patel. It is a medium/full body and it's pretty dang good. This is a box pressed cigar. Another favorite of mine is the Flor de Los Antilles by My Father cigars. That is a great box pressed cigar that you can't go wrong with.
