Heck yeah! I watched one of my friends use a dozer on our ranch (lease) recently. After watching him work for 10 minutes I said to myself "I want one!" And I have no business owning or operating one, but I would like to find out more and learn more.

To the OP, I don't know the answer but please keep us updated on what you decide.

Take into account how nasty the stuff is you'll be driving over. I've rented backhoes to guys who were trying to save money and they frequently end up with tire and hose repair bills.

Go with a bobcat skidsteer and grubber. You can take out 3ft diameter trees easily.
