    What do you use?

Curious to see what type of release others use for practice/hunting. I started off with a TRU Ball wrist release (I forget what model) but soon realized I hated having the release around my wrist. Not just for target practice but, also for hunting. For me, it got in the way when I needed to grab something or put my hands in my pocket during the colder months. I also did not like the velcro straps as it was LOUD if i needed to adjust. I then picked up a TRU Ball ST-3 thumb release a few years ago and haven't looked back. I've adjusted the trigger pull to it's lowest setting (1oz) and it works great for me. Light, crisp break and it's improved my accuracy significantly.

So, what do you guys shoot?

Scott Wolverine and Trufire Hardcore wrist. I hate thumb and hinge releases, over the last 30 years I have tried them many times and they just aren't for me. Last year I could not find my Scott release anywhere so I bought the Hardcore and then of course a few days later I found the Scott lol. So I kept the Trufire as a backup since I liked it.

Ain't that always the case? You misplace something and go off to replace it only to find it a few days later. When you don't need something, you see it all over the place. When you finally need it, you can't seem to find it anywhere.

What was really funny was I practicing wearing my new jacket to see if it would hit and I put the release in the pocket when I finished shooting. For some reason I totally forgot I did that. Then when I went to practice with the new release with the jacket but from my practice treestand this time, yep found the old one LOL.

I started with a trufire wrist release. I am currently using a trufire thumb button but my spot Hogg whipper snapper will be here today!
