Depends at what age for me. I have a couple of misfits running around that I would love to see as long as possible. If I was older, pull the plug!

I watched my grandfather steal his quality of life for an extra 2 years on earth. I don't think I wanna do that should the day come in my later years. Now if I get diagnosed in the next 10-15 years and my health is better able to withstand the chemo/treatments? Who knows...but I don't wanna leave my wife and kids in a bind just to live for another year or two of miserable life.
Haven't been called ignorant in a long time, thanks. It's a simple concept really. Some think that if you don't fight to the bitter end then it's a suicide. I don't believe that however, I believe in leaving my family in good shape and making sure they know Christ. That's my goal.

I've never talked to an old timer that has committed suicide so I can't confirm that.

I think you missed what I was saying. In the church I was raised in the old folks always said that people went to hell for committing suicide. I was simply stating that I don't believe that.

I have no idea what I would do. Had a cousin in his late sixties say heck no. He was in bad shape and he told them give me pain meds and went home. He died a short time later.

I'd go full on Breaking Bad.

I am willing to go to great lengths to ensure for my family a future if I cannot be a part of it.

Wasn't calling you ignorant I just read that as saying that people say if you don't use all medical solutions to live longer, that you were basically committing suicide. Perhaps I read that wrong tho

My wife and I have the legal documents in place. If either life is dependent upon a machine, even bed ridden for the remainder, the POA, DNR and Physician Directive is ready. Why prolong the agony for all my loved ones and incur great expenses. Nope.

I'm gonna use cancer here as an example..If it's not prostate,or skin cancer;I'm not fighting it.I'd try real hard not to create a financial disaster.I've seen it too many times.

I was confused by what you were saying till I thought more about it.... I didn't mean "bang" like gun shot. I meant having fun, going on exotic hunts, enjoying the time I had left. All of that would be less expensive than treatment. And quality time with my family. Sorry for the confusion!
