I think yall are jumping at the gun! How do you know he was trying a neck shot? Looks like he was trying to put in front of the shoulder since the little buck was quartering toward him. Yeah, he may have hit a little left, but after watching it multiple times, I don't see how you can say he was trying a neck shot. It was a quick humane kill is the way I look at it!

Not a shot I would have took, but there is no tracking job needed...

I am thinking that it was a hard quarter towards him and he missed the mark....
