We've had our pop-up for 10 years now. We still love it. It is as small as you can get. It is just a deluxe tent. You will hear everything and the AC will not keep up under the sun. At night it will freeze you out. I towed it for 9 years with a 4cly Honda Element. Never had a single problem. Now I have a 5.7 Tundra CM and have to remind myself that it is back there. As soon as my son graduates college we are planning on getting a travel trailer. The popup has been great but we are looking at much longer trips in the future.

We don't spend time inside when we are on vacay. So something small doesn't bother me. If we aren't camping then we get cheap hotels because it's just a place to sleep and get a hot shower before heading out for the day.

If I were in your shoes, I'd rent instead of buy. Find out what you do and don't like. We had a pop up for years and liked it just fine. Took less than 30 minutes to set up. We never thought about upgrading.
