    Fat Cat caught on camera

My buddy put his game camera over a gut pile of one of the deer we shot this past weekend, hoping to get some predator pictures. Well it worked! The pictures all look like the same cat. He started feeding a little after 8:00pm Saturday night, and came back off and on until 6:44 am Sunday morning. Other than this bobacat I was the only one on our lease in Spofford that saw a bobcat!

          Nice.

We hunted for 5 years out of Spofford. You know where the "touch and go" Air Force strip is?

Not sure of the "touch and go" Air Force strip, but we drive by an air strip at the corner of FM 1572 and FM 131. Is that it?

Can't remember the road numbers. It's not the air strip right there in "town". From Spofford, heading toward Eagle Pass, on the Brackettsville to Eagle Pass road you go about 5 miles. There's a paved road heading into the ranch and it leads to a fenced in air strip where the AF trains touch and go landings. That's been about 8 years ago, but I assume it's still there. The ranch sold and we lost our lease.

                      Beautiful cat.

I consider it a privilege to see cats in the wild. Never had any desire to kill one....just enjoy seeing such a graceful and beautiful animal.

                      How does cat taste?

Like chicken? I shot the first couple long ago and just watch them now. I remember when I was a kid the police swarmed a dumpster by our house and it was all over the news. Apparently a dude had killed a mountain lion and cooked it, somehow the arm/hand was cooked or maybe just decayed and the hand was sticking out of the dumpster and someone thought it was a human hand. Had the guy on the news saying he cooked it up and ate it, we all looked at each other thinking it's awfully weird to eat a cat.

Puma taste like bacon. Pioneers ate it for breakfast. I still order it when asked what I would like for breakfast "Puma and eggs please"!
Never thought about eating a bobcat but may try it if he doesn't quit eating my feeder doves, just saw him a few minutes ago out front.
