Whichever brand, the 350-500 class will do all you need.

For your needs also keep your eye on the quads ride height / center of gravity. Some sit higher than others both off the ground and the height of the seat in relation to the ground.
With your going in and out of ravines you'll probably be better off with a lower slung quad. The older Suzuki king quads and Honda fore mans come to mind.
The Kawasaki bayou 300 or 400 4x4 would be just about perfect.

If buying used make sure you get one with a title. I got a 2003 400 4x4 and it does all i want. I have stuck it and a cheap winch comes in handy for thst and erecting and moving deer blinds.

Bought a 2015 Artic Cat 500 for $4995 last year after my other one was stolen and it is a beast. It only had 400+ miles on it when I bought it! Awesome machine!

I bought my 07 used and it has held up great. It's a mountain goat, Ive had it going up a steep enough hill I had to stand on the rear rack and lean over the front to keep it down, but it pulled my big butt right to the top.

Whatever you get, treat all your fuel with a good fuel stabilizer with ethanol treatment and you'll never have problems starting it. I dont drain my gas in the off season, or during season but every tank that I've ever put in has been treated and never have had a carb issue. Also, keep a battery tender on it if you can at all possible.

Another vote for Honda. There ain't just a whole lot of places these things won't go! And if there is...you probably don't want to be there anyway. [emoji108]
                      I love my 03 Rancher

Yamaha or Honda 2-3k will get you a solid machine.

I paid 4K for mine. And it will do it all. Just not real pretty. But I'm thinking if you only use it a couple times a year it won't stay dependable
