    Mole problem in yard!

Our 2 acres is being taken over by these stupid things. We have sandy loam and I guess they love it. They seem to have gotten a lot worse this year. Anybody else deal with these critters? How the heck do I get rid of them?

Here's a novel approach. I put a piece of Juicy Fruit gum in their tunnel. I poke a hole and insert. Mole comes along , gets to gum, takes a bite...end of mole.

Buy some mole traps at tractor supply, find the mound open it up place the set trap in the hole but make sure you tie it to a stake or the will drag it in the hole they work like a charm

Best remedy I've found are the traps that have the spears, that stab them lil ba$tards from the top. Buy 4-5 of them and put out in main active runs, they'll get them. You'll get excited when you look out there and see a few traps have been set off

I'm covered in them this year. My dog has caught two this week but is tearing up flower beds trying to catch them.

Had my Dogg digging holes in the ground for them and went through many different types of attempts at getting rid of them. Here's what worked...

I located the mole hole at the bottom of the dog hole. Stuck a small diameter stick in to confirm that the hole was clear and unobstructed. Inserted a garden hose a couple feet into the unobstructed hole. Buried filled in the dog hole with dirt to hold the hose in the unobstructed hole and keep gasses in. Fabricated an adapter from pvc and blower/vacuum attachments with some duct tape onto the unturned end of the hose. Fit the adapted end of the hose onto my exhaust pipe of my truck with duct tape to seal it as much as possible. Turned truck on and listened to the radio for about 20 or 30 minutes. No more moles for 2 years then did it again and never saw moles again.

This method was by far the best. There was no residual poison to worry about. It likely killed many at once. It didn't cost a thing.

                    Good luck!

Which kind? The ones that leave a big pile of dirt of the tunnel ones?

Tunnel moles..punjee stake type trap or a mean little dog. I have both and the dog is more effective. I did try some of those gopher gassers and that may have worked.

The kind that pile up dirt, seen two approaches both applied by old retired men.

1)An old neighbor would uncover the mound and insert a water hose in the hole. If the mole survived the flood the man would shoot him with a 410 when he came out.

2)my dad (now retired) only uses this while my mom still at work. He'll uncover two mounds that appear to connect. He then applies some 89 octane via a pump up sprayer, waits a few minutes and throws a match in the hole. WHOOFFF!! Sometimes he uncovers, sits in a chair reading a book and puts a couple .22 rounds in The moving dirt.

We have the tunnel moles around here. They leave trails of raised dirt all over. I've never seen the gophers in this area that pile up the dirt in mounds. We have those up at the farm in Elkhart though. My wifes 94 yr old grandpa will sit out there forever waiting until one pokes his head up so he can shoot em with his 22. He's been at war with them for the 13 years I've been around him. Lol
