Guy I know got one a while back and loves it. But he only fishes central texas lakes.

I am going to either get that or a raymarine when I upgrade this fall.

I have the Helix 7 and I'm very pleased with it. Great graphics. I've only used it on my home lake, but the GPS for marking my hotspots and getting back to my dock at night is awesome!

I have one on my Xpress. It came with it. Nice unit. I do wish it had Down Imaging (DI).

Just got a helix 7, upgraded from 598 ci si hd.

I wouldnt recommend a 5 in screen for anything other than 2d sonar. DI and SI you have zero resolution and it comes out grainy with no detail.

I absolutely by all means recommend a map card. So much info on any water in your hands.

GPS on the helix is pretty accurate.

Ive only used the unit once but i have no complaints

Well after much research I decided to go with the Garmin EcoMap Chirp 74SV. It just seemed to have more of the options I was looking for over the Helix. However, this unit is more expensive so it makes sense to have a few more options. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

The 7-inch echoMAP CHIRP 74sv chartplotter/sonar comes with or without a transducer for high wide CHIRP sonar and Garmin CHIRP SideVü and CHIRP ClearVü, the clearest scanning sonar on the water. It supports Panoptix sonar and includes preloaded BlueChart g2 HD U.S. coastal charts and internal 5 Hz GPS.
