This is my setup. Just put it on an egg crate and zip a door around it covered with a towel. Works great!

Call around to storage places and see if anyone is selling there travel trailers. I bought one a few years ago that was used twice. The outside was rough looking due to weather but the inside was brand new. Still had tape on the microwave. Paid $3500. Never know what you may find.

What are you guys using to power these AC's while camping?

Some camp grounds have power and water available for tent camping spots.

              Or use a generator

They make tents with window unit ports now.

You know Aaron, I'd tell the family that you need that small camper. You don't need that Texas heat getting you all cranky about 2004. That's what it does to me.

My son puts one in his door opening and it works great. Just put the door on the down hill side he learned the hard way and woke up with water in the tent.

An old Robert Earl Keen albums comes to minds.

"Man, you oughtta be down here; it's such a great day. I get in my old convertible and drive around San Marcos. I go down an alley and look into this one back yard, and there are 20 Mexican guys drinking Schlitz beer. There is one of those really long, orange extension cords that goes way back into the house and is plugged in somewhere. It comes out into the yard and goes all the way out to a picnic table, where it is plugged into a window-unit air conditioner."
