    Question about boots...

I was getting a pair of boots resoled recently, and the guy at the shop was talking about how it really is important to have a couple different pair. Mostly because it helps the boots last longer, but it also is better for your feet. Is there truth to this or was the guy just trying to sell me another pair of boots?

I have 3 pair of work boots. I rotate to let them dry out from sweating in them. I have not had athletes foot or other problems since I started doing this.

I have a few different pair, more for different occasions but I will add that when I alternate boots more regular I don't seem to have as much lower back pain. I have some slightly self inflicted back issues. Your feet do not tend to hit the ground the exact same angle all the time so nothing gets tight. I have no idea if there is any science to this, but just my personal opinion.

Guy at work changes socks and boots out at lunch time.
His dad worked in a factory on concrete floor for 30 years. That's what his dad did to mitigate knee and back pain.

I know guy's that do this. If the weather is good, I'll eat lunch outside and kick my boots off while I'm eating.

I have 2 pairs of pull ons, 1 pair of lace up and 1 pair of hiking boots that I rotate whenever the mood strikes me, I can definitely feel my feet getting sore after a few days in the same pair so ill switch the next morning. Im a believer

I have found that to be true. I get in a habit of wearing the same boots every day because they are my favorite. But they will last much longer if you rotate a few pairs.

I rotate between 4 pairs plus my LL bean Mocs. If you have leather soles then I would say he's right on wearing them out. If they are vibrams or something they will last a long while.

I have 3 pair. I beat the crap out of one pair working outside in them and the other two are nice boots I rotate out depending on the occasion. I also have a pair of twisted X moccasins that I rotate out as well.

Or, you could get this from Amazon. I use these on my bike and running shoes. Keep them dry, smelling fresh and they last much longer. They make glove attachments for work or bike gloves. I leave it plugged in constantly, draws very little power and is silent.

I don't quite understand it, but heard a supposed factoid that shoes being worn every other day vs daily will last a lot longer...doesn't really make sense to me, but throwing it out there simply to possibly back up what he is saying in that regard.

My steel toes are a little over two years, but they spend most their time pushing a gas peddle all over deep south tx...just a requirement for locations. All the wrenches poke fun at my hard hat cuz it's still looks new & has no scratches or grease /grime stained. Same with FR shirt that hasn't been washed once since I got it.
