I use the plain 100 gr heads. They have made improvements over the years. Never had an issue.

I never shoot more than 60#'s, with today's bows anything more is just an ego boost . I am also a big fan of fixed blade broadheads. I used original Muzzy 3 blade for about 12 years and never had a problem. I switched to QAD Exodus in 2013 and liked those a lot too. Last year I dropped to 50#'s due to a bicep injury and switched to an honest cut on contact head. I chose Solid Legend but they are really expensive. I just liked them. When I was shooting trad I shot Magnus 2 blades and loved them. I also still have some 3 blade Snuffer SS's.

This is an entrance hole on an Ohio doe with QAD Exodus full blade. It was quartering away, the arrow entered the liver and exited the far lung. It went about 100 yards but the blood trail was awesome. I wish I took pics of that.

I have used both the regular 100 and 125 grain heads with success.

Thanks for this post. I really enjoyed the Grim Reaper last season, but broke a blade on a rock (my fault I get it) but can't get replacements. So I am looking into anther head of choice. This gives me some more thoughts.

For an all around great head that is very durable, sharp, reasonably priced, replaceable blades you seriously can't beat the exodus. Slick tricks are good also but not nearly as durable.

I've shot most broadheads and I think fixed blade are the most dependable on contact. I like the G5 Montec or Striker and i also like the exodus.

silver flame is legit but very expensive.

you don't need to turn your bow up to 70#. 60# is plenty. i would also examine your arrow weight and FOC. I like to be in the 430 grain area with 10% FOC. put a fixed blade on the end of that and there isn't a big game animal in North America that you can't kill
