Just take a GG shot in each butt cheek, a round of antibiotics before you go and get sick when you get back.

Don't NEED any, depending on where you go. I've been to South Africa a few times and going back in June. I decided to get Hep A & B and tetanus just to be safe, but nothing is required. I figured getting Hep A&B was probably a safe move even if I wasn't going. One of them takes like 10 months and I wasn't complete with it when I went over the first time. No problems.

Some of the shots can't cure what you have anyway. Why are you worried about it??? haha, have fun

Also if you have a travel clinic in your town you can go there, they will have all of the latest info and give you " their recommendations "

I made sure my Tetanus was up to date and that was it. Been 3 times and no problems.

Not a vaccine, but you might want to ask your outfitter if you will be hunting in a malaria zone, and take the pills if you are.

I don't think their required in South Africa, but If your in any other part of this god forsaken place, definitely going to want your yellow fever shot. South Africa is very nice but some places in East and West Africa not so much. I've been working here off and on for the past three years and can't stand the place.

But then again I'd probably have a better view if I was hunting it.

I just got caught up on the regular stuff. MMR, Flu, Dtap and Hep. Insurance covered it 100%. I do not think you need Yellow Fever but that's your choice. CDC gets a little carried away, since the USA and RSA are not known Yellow Fever hot beds I don't personally think it's warranted. I recommend you go see your PCP if you have a good one and just talk it. Most have exp with these sort of things.
