We have a lot of them around our house in Lakeway. See them almost every night this time of year and into the summer.

I grew up in central texas in the 1950's - we would go outside on summer nights with glass jars and catch fireflies by the dozens -

Insects such a fireflies are far away from extinction, maybe you've just missed the place and time whenever you hunt for them...

or they are hiding from you...
