Tons of fun and lots of mechanical knowledge gained riding and working on that old cart! Wish I could find my son one like it that wasnt outrageously expensive! I saved my Christmas, birthday, and money I made doing odd chores for neighbors and family friends to buy it. Cost $250.

Carter Brothers, we had one for several years. They make good ones.

I looked at go carts for Christmas this year and wanted exact things you wanted. I ended up getting my kids Chinese 4-wheelers in stead. They don't have reverse but they are small enough they can push them around. They have a remote kill switch and you can govern them way down. Almost to a walk easily. They have been great and the girls love them. Only about 500 each.

It needs to have 2 seats, hopefully, electric start, governor, and reverse. Would like to keep it between $1-2k. We've got several acres he can ride around on and the neighbor girl has one already and they ride it a good bit.

              Looking for suggestions!

              Thanks!
For what it's worth, we had a go cart that had all those fancy items (Electric start, governor, and reverse). We broke the electric start, removed the governor, and reverse was not needed since without the gov you could wipe the back around pretty easy.

              What is needed:
              Helmet and goggles. Thats it.

Well, I went to look at the cart and it came home with me. This is what I was talking about. The more bells and whistles you put in them (electric start, reverse, etc), the more to break. I paid $150, and I'll have to put another $100-150 into it but it should be a really good cart with a little bit of work and all for less than $300! Took about an hour to get running costing $0. All it needs now is a set of wheel bearings on the drive tire, a chain, an air filter, and one small bracket repaired to be fully functional. Down the road, I plan to put bigger tires, a live axle, and torque converter. Also plan to fully powder coat the frame and all other metal parts.
