One of our hunting Labs got accidentally bred by a pit years ago. The puppies were incredible hog dogs. They turned out so good we bred them again before we got her fixed because people wanted another batch!

All the dogs turned out about 100lbs male, 75ish female, and had a nose to run with the cur dogs but would also catch. Also made great ranch dogs, the two that weren't trained to hunt stayed at my moms and kept that entire place clear of varmints, snakes, pigs, and anybody else that pulled up the ranch road that wasn't supposed to be there.
