Hey TBH, wanted to let yall know that for the first time San Antonio's Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is adding a BBQ Competition to their annual Spring Event: Sportsman's Night Out. Limited to 12 teams and only a few spots left.
Thursday May 18th - Half Day Competition
Location: Alzafar Shrine Pavillion (behind the banquet hall)
901 North Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78232
Noon "meat on" time with judges turn-in at 6:15
Quarter Chicken and 1 pork rib per box; 34 boxes given for each team to fill
10:30 am Earliest Arrival; its all over by 10 pm
Sponsored by Silver Eagle (complimentary adult beverages for all attendees)
$100 per team entry gets you 4 tickets; more tickets are 2 for $40
1st Place - 12 gauge shotgun and trophy
2nd Place - $500 in raffle tickets and trophy
3rd Place - $250 in raffle tickets and trophy
Judges from: BBQ Station, Smoke, and Smoke Shack
This event is considered a "family picnic and happy hour." The goal is to provide each attendee a petite BBQ plate with buffet style sides, as well as plenty of Kiolbassa sausage wraps for extra food. Same number of guns as the banquet with a couple hundred less people means higher chances to win and lots of raffle items and games as well.
