I have a LandPride 72" as well and that is the only one I have had but it works very well although it is a tad heavy for my 30hp Boomer. It has yuge, yuge blades but will cut down stuff as advertised. I try to keep the blades sharpened and that helps. The deck is thick and to date I have no rust spots to worry about. I check the gear fluid regularly and have never had to add fluid or had a leak.
X2 ! I've had mine for nearly 15 years, cut pine and gum up to 3/4" thick, and mine is not even the heaviest model. I know a guy that mows rights-of-way that has changed tractor brands three times in the last ten years or so, but he sticks with the heavy duty Rhino for the shredders. Good enough for me !
That said, I have a Land Pride disc, and it's a dandy. I wouldn't back away from a Land Pride shredder.
Modern Ag out of Beaumont. Fully gavlvanized............BUT I would look into flail mowers. I have a 7' Modern Ag Super Sunshine that I haven't used since getting a flail mower. My flail has a 7'6" cut and is much much easier on my tractor.

I have a Modern Ag 8 ft Predator. Haven't used it on heavy brush, just grass and cactus. It does use some heavy metal, though. Much of it is 7 gauge steel. The fact that it is galvanized, not painted, is really nice. I've seen some of their larger batwings that have been used hard, with much less rust than painted models from other companies.
Mine is probably built as heavy as a Bush Hog 3008, while the price was comparable to a 2008 (lighter) model....
Also, I think Sandyland down in Fairfield is carrying Modern Ag shredders. No, I don't work for them or know them in anyway, nor can I vouch for their prices. Just seen them on Tractorhouse, and know it's near Groesbeck.
