I bought a small pull behind sprayer and poisoned my field last fall with a four wheeler . Then brosdcast elbon rye, wheat, and oats. I mowed over the top and then fertilized.
Nice sandy soil and good rain proved an awesome stand. The later you plant the better in my opinion. Only takes s few days for it to grow and start attracting deer. Easier than discing and better for the soil. Poison costs $, but so does diesel.
Next year I will be using a pull behind mower on a new place.
