    Cyanide bombs

I got on a new lease back in January. One of my concerns was if I would be allowed to bring my Blue Lacy to the lease. The landowner told me that would be fine, but warned me of old cyanide bombs possibly still on the property.

I went to the lease this past weekend to get some things set up, and a few days after returning home the landowner called to let me know that he's having more traps put out. He then informed me that I won't be able to bring my dog.

Would this be a deal breaker for any of y'all?

It's an awesome lease, but this has me wondering if I should look elsewhere after this year.

I know they mark the m-44's with signage but I still would not risk it with my dogs. Do you have to take your dog?

I would ask if i could bring him only to track... that said, id be **** careful of tose bombs, and ask to talk to government trapper setting them for locations so you could avoid

I don't have to take her, but I enjoy taking her to the lease. Main reason I got her was for tracking.

It appears that the landowner doesn't want dogs at the lease.

I never was on a lease that allowed you to bring your dogs, so it wouldn't give me pause at all.

Awesome lease, as you say? Leave your dog at home.

They normally only set them out certain times of the year and they will be right off the road more times then not.

This, he's trying to tell you in a nice way he doesn't want people bringing dogs.

                    I agree

I also can't blame him at all but I'd be direct and just say no pets allowed

And if its a tracking dog? Or you dove hunt, or quail hunt...

I have never seen a lease contract that said no dogs. I know the ones we have our hunters sign dont have it.

If its me id call and ask him straight up. Like i said id ask to talk to trapper too just too keep dog safe.

You dont tell sombody there are cyanide bombs on the property as a way to "nicely" say no dogs... if anything thats the opposite... you say, "hey, i really would rather you not have dogs on the place." And have a conversation about it...

For quail lease I could understand wanting one and it being a deal breaker. Dove hunting walk your lazy *** out and pick up your birds and for tracking call someone. One dog isn't a problem in most cases but what if everyone wants to bring their dogs

It's a tracking dog. I agree with what you said. I'm gonna talk to him about it next time I go out there.

You've never owned working dogs and it shows... you'll prob never get it. But let me try to exsplain why your "points" makes no sense...

What is the difference is having a dog help find and retrieve downed birds quail or dove? Come hunt where i do... good luck finding them without a dog. I know we dont and thats why dogs have become a priority... we dont all hunt "planted" wheat fields bud

What if HE is the guy ppl call to track... he cant use his own tracking dog on his lease? Also why would calling in sombody ELSES dog be different? Still a dog on property....

Deal breaker. Never know when your gonna need to track. However I understand not wanting dogs running amuck and droppin their own bombs indiscriminately.
