    Calling mechanics of the greenscreen

Working on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler

Since I've had the jeep I've noticed that after starting it runs fine for about 10-20sec the idles rough to about 500rpms for about 3-4sec then it's back up to around 800 and is fine.

    No CEL light

I've blown it off and taken it for what it is. I've had the jeep for about 8 months and have been doing a lot of work to it. It's not registered yet so I haven't done a lot of driving it. I've driven it around the block but never really got on it and pushed it.

I did a triple application of seafoam today. Some in the tank, some in the crank and applied seafoam top end cleaner in the intake. Went thru the whole 9yrds.......

I got in the jeep to drive it down the road and clear it all out. Revs and drives fine all the way thru 1st and 2nd. Fine in 3rd until about 2500-3000rpm. Starts cutting out real bad at that mark. Motor has to kinda "catch up" once I let off the throttle. Once my speed drops and rpms drop I can put it in 2nd and go again.

I was think it's the transmission. I babied it home and parked. Reved the motor up just to see. Sure enough around 2500-3000 it started sputtering. I kept giving it gas thinking I could blow it out and it finally cleared and the CEL came on. Codes were 12,15,55. Started it up again and CEL was off.

    What do y'all think????

Thank you. Is there a way to check or verify this?

Mine did the same thing, code that was pulled was the TPS. Instantly ran normal

Only trouble with that is the fact that mine isn't giving a code for TPS

Hmmm haven't thought of this. It's cheap enough to change.

                  1. Dying alternator.
                  2. Dying battery.
                  4. Loose battery cables.
                  3. Burning oil? Check your oil levels.

                  Good luck

                    Update:

I replaced the fuel filter. I noticed that the fuel system wasn't pressurized at all when disconnecting the hoses. Thought that was weird. Stuck the new filter on and went to start the jeep.

It took 5-6 super long cranks to get it to turn over. Once it turned over it ran horrible. Worse than before. Give it the slightest throttle and it dies. While running like crap I started doing some investigation.

I noticed that I don't hear the fuel pump. I check the large fuse in engine bay and it's good and I have voltage on the two prongs of the relay. Relay isn't engaging with key forward. 2 blast of starter fluid in air box and engine idles right up. Turned off motor and went and unplugged the harness to the fuel pump. Turned key forward and there is no power to any of them while checking with a test light connected to the frame.

I disconnected the quick connect fuel supply and very little gas and air came out. I wedged a piece of plastic to force the relay on and still no fuel. Is that relay supposed to be kicking on with key forward?

I'm assuming it's a bad fuel pump now as I haven't heard it kick on. But I'm confused as to why the relay wouldn't be kicking on with key forward.
