    HughesNet Gen5 is Awesome!

I've had HughesNet at the ranch since I left dialup in '06. Satellite internet has always been slower and more expensive than what most consumers get, until now!

HughesNet Gen 5 is the real deal! For the same price I was paying for Gen2 5Mbps down, now I'm getting 45+Mbps after the upgrade.

    HughesNet Gen 5 is the ****!! [emoji1360]

We made the exact same change this past Saturday. It was such a drastic difference...that I was mad for paying for the Gen 2 for the past 3 years.

                    They offer 10, 20, and 50GB plans.

Price depends on what plan, new or existing customer, area, etc. I haven't seen a Gen 5 bill yet, but I think it will be around $70/mo for the 20GB plan.

You know, I'm paying $45/mo for my radio signal service now and its pretty dang slow. All considered, $70 might work out ok.

Once we get out in the boondocks we're gonna cut DirecTV back to a basic package, and use more Amazon & Netflix.

Website doesn't say the difference between plans

All plans have the same speed only different data caps. The 10GB is $49.99/mo.

Latency is ridiculous though! How well can you stream?

Downstream one way should be fine. Forget about voip, or video calling(face time, etc). The latency (ping times) is why I can't use it.

Also, for anyone considering it for online gaming.... Don't.
