Went into Bryan today to get a double check valve.
Guy said they were $450+!!! That was for a 2 inch. The one inch were about $175.
So I give little brother a call. He said don't buy nothing. I have everything you need. So he's gonna make the trip down here and fix me up. Said he was even gonna install my own personal meter where I can check it against the water company's. Should have this in by the weekend and I will see how this works out.

Stay with a 2" double check and meter.

At my track home leak...I eventually found air in the washer box lines...which was replaced...but since no PRV and no check valve (aka backflow preventer)...the meter stopped spinning but the meter still bobs back and forth.

Still waiting on my brother to drive down and install everything. He was supposed to have this past weekend, but found he was lacking one part.
I did however, have another neighbor call me yesterday and said that her water usage doubled as well this past month. Her meter is on down the county road a little ways from ours. So now, that makes a total of 5 customers that has had a change in their water usage.
I just told her she had a leak!!!

Well, being that it rained most of the morning, I didn't get the check valve put in. Gonna try for tomorrow. Had to run into B/CS this afternoon. In which I started another thread on what I saw there today.
It is already up to 4 pages as well. You can go read those in the meantime!!!

Still haven't installed the check valve. One of the parts my brother gave me that glues to my main 2 inch line is for a 2 1/2 inch line!!
Just glad I didn't cut it then try to put it in.
But anyways, in the last 3 days, I've been monitoring my meter and have only used 210 gallons. I consider that normal use with showers, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.... where I was going thru almost that in one day with nobody at the house using any water.
I just wonder if more people had a higher bill than normal last month and complained and the water company figured out the problem was on their end and fixed it??
I think for the time being, I will just monitor the meter and if nothing changes in the next week, looks like the water company will have to credit me something.

I'm pretty sure I've read everything on this thread and didn't see an answer to this question. Did you go to the water company and ask them if they had pressure variations during the time period you had the higher consumption? They may have been working on something or doing maintenance in that period that caused this.
