Estrus Doe Bleat in a Can

Has anyone actually ever heard this out in the field??
I bought one when they first came out and after several seasons of NOT callin in a buck, I smashed it like a Dr Pepper can.
Then it dawned on me. I have never heard a deer make this call or noise.
    TILL
I was in Ks last week.
When I first heard it, I thought, "What the heck"!!!
Then I heard it again and the next thought was somebody done slipped in on me using the "can". Sounded just like it. But I was in a thick stand of cedars and couldn't see that far.
But right after I heard it the 2nd time, all hell broke loose. Timber was breaking, crashing in the trees and a whole lot of grunting was heard. Then a doe comes runnin in less than 15 yds from me. But before I could see what was chasin her, she ran back in the cedars taking with her the buck. Never did see him.
After that, figure I'd try it one more time. I called in 2 bucks that week. One was a nice 8, 100 yds out walking along a CRP field going away from me. Hit the can a couple of times and he did a about face and came in 15 yds. Cool. The other was a dink but he was fun to watch. When I hit the can, a doe had just passed me by. He came running in, saw the doe and the chase was on. When he finally caught up with her, you could tell by his actions, "Sniff sniff. No, it's not you"!!!
I have yet to have it work for me in Tx.
Anybody have any luck with it??

I think the bucks have to be really chasing does for it to work. Like on the 3 or 4 days a year when the bucks completely lose their minds b/c of the rut. On a ranch where the ratio isn't 1/1, I doubt it would do much good, but couldn't hurt.

I've never heard it in the field, but it works. I've called in several bucks using the can. Called in a good 10 three years ago. If it wasn't for the can I don't think I could have turned him.

I'm glad to hear does actually make that noise! I've never heard it in the wild. I've got a can and use this time of year but I've never gotten a response. The can I have is pretty small and not very loud - has to be a really still day for it to carry very far.

When the dang things first came out, I bought the Primos 3 pack with all three sizes of cans... so far the only use I have had for any of them is at the end of my hunt, if there are still deer around me, one "hit" from the can, and presto, no more deer. Every time I've ever used it when a deer was actually in sight, they bolted like they'd been shot at! I put them right up there with the Primos "bloodhunter" and "mini-bloodhunter"... once they have been purchased, they have done their "job".

That is funny b/c that is exactly what I use it for. Clears em out in a hurry.

I always carry one, especially when bowhunting. I have never called up any deer that I don't see but if I see a buck a ways off I hit the can and more times than not he will come in. Earlier this year I called at a nice young 10pt that i saw about 150yrds away and he came right to my stand.

I have NEVER seen a single deer while using it here in Texas. But I did have a dink show up and refuse to leave up in PA after using it. Even called in a coyote up there.

Down here.....I use it, and I don't ever see another deer.

                      Worked for me once

Before I bought mine a friend let me borrow his. I was sitting there bored and got it out and played with it for a about a couple of minutes and then just set it down. After a couple of minutes I noticed a doe about 100yds looking towards me and a young forky at about 35yds also looking at me.

How do you use it? I usually just let it cycle 2 times then put it down. How did it sound in the wild????

I have heard does making the noise but can back up the bucks bolting out of sight when I have tried the can. The deer were very agressive and loud this season up in Kansas. I heard the bucks and does making the wierdest sounds this year.

How often did the does "mew" at one time. Over and over...or just once and done?
