Someone please explain a carbon lined blind???

I don't want to get into the whole scentlok discussion, even though I think it's a croc. What about carbon lined blinds?

It's not like your scent won't get out of the mesh windows and there is no way to "recharge it" like they say you can do with scentlok even though you need about 900 degrees to do so.

    What gives????

it's called a marketing strategy, just like scentlok

The main argument by the ScentLoc skeptics is that there's no way a clothes dryer gets anywhere near hot enough to reactivate the carbon. If that is in fact true, then I don't see any way you could reactivate the carbon in a blind. The scent molecules would just bind to the carbon and stay there indefinately, right? To the degree that a blind provides a physical barrier that blocks some odor, I think it helps but I've been busted by being upwind of deer while in a ground blind many times - even with just one window barely open.

              I have a scentlok suit!

Don't see any difference without it.

                That you know of!!
All I'm gonna say, I've seen first hand. Had 10 deer come in downwind and I mean it was a good wind. As soon as the big doe got directly in wind of me, she got nevous. She was only 25 yds. But she never blew out of there. Few mins later, watch a buck come as far as 100yds directly downwind and never knew I was there. I know you can't cover all your scent, but can cover just enough where they think you're not that close.
Next day, I don't wear the scent-lok. I just "spray" down. Have deer come downwind at 50 yds and blew out of there like nobody's buisness. This was just a week ago. I could go on and on with what I have experienced with it or without it. With that said, I'm not going to get in a debate with anybody that has never wore one.
Makes me wonder how many deer that come downwind and leave out on a dime that we never do see because of the brush, trees, hill, ect.....
As far as the ?? at hand, carbon lined blind, if it's not removable, what good would it be. I have just as good results in my regular blind, but I try to place it where it's upwind from the deer's approach. That doesn't always work though. And when I've had them downwind from me and the blind, knock on wood, can't recall being busted yet. They seem more interested in the "new look" in their living room. That cost a couple of does last year. As they say, curiosty killed the cat!!!

I started using "CORN" by Dial as a bath soap. The new scent actually attracts wild game, its fantastic. Its a pretty limited distribution, so if anyoen would like some, let me know. Its $28.50 a bar, while normal soap is what $1? But you know, you'll never know how many more deer you 'coulda' got if you woulda used "CORN" by Dial!

Corn by Dial at 28.00 bucks a bar is outragous however if it was Trophy Buck Corn by Dial now your talking .

I dont think a carbon lined pop up is gonna help you much. I think it more of a marketing ploy. No matter if your in a carbon lined popup, using Corn soap, or hunting in Scentlock clothes, always play the wind.
                    IMO

I have had the wind blowing in my face and a mature buck comes from behind me about 15yds to my left. I was scented down with a mixture of Scent-a-Way and Scent Zapper(supposedly a real dirt formula). The buck proceeded on his way calmly, never detecting my presence. Using the same mixture along with Deer Herd on a Stick, I watched a really nice older trophy buck feeding at 14 yards for at least 10 mins. and he never knew I was there. Not a lot of wind on that morning however.
Don't believe I will buying the expensive scentlock clothing anytime soon. I do have lots fo friends that stand by them though. Again, each his own.
                      PEACE!

I'm on the fence about the effectiveness of Scent-Lok even though I own some.

Carbon lined blinds are a farce IMO.

The only purpose of offering a carbon lined blind, is to aid in removing the lining from your wallet.

I own Scent-Blocker stuff and use it on every hunt. Does it work? I think that it helps but I'm not 100%. The one thing that I do know for a fact is that I spend a pile of cash on corn, lease fees, corn, gas, feeders, corn, blinds, etc. every year. I buy a new set of camo every other year or so. The features that I view as "must haves" in my hunting clothes are found in both Scent-Blocker and non-scent free type clothes. When they are only $50 to $100 more for the Scent-Blocker stuff then why not???? I don't spend thousands of dollars every year on hunting only to take the chance of getting busted by a deer's nose because I was too cheap to buy ScentBlocker clothing. Just my opinion.

As for the carbon lined blinds........the blinds that I buy have it but that has nothing to do with why I buy them.
