I read an article about a guy that did just this. It was an interesting read.

Where do you register to vote from? I know some folks who drug up from CA and did just that. They have a few 'preferred places' they setup camp for a month or two at a time.

I've considered the same, but haven't really started researching it yet. Gotta graduate the kids first.

No. Just have enough equity in the house to pay for it.
My Air Force retirement, Lockheed retirement and the wife's SSI should more than cover the bills.

Prevo or high end 5th wheel and 1 ton? I think I would rather go with the latter. You can get in that way for 150K. Always sounded like fun to me, but I have too much stuff that I really like and still 15 years away from that point in my life.

What will happen to the value of your RV vs the value of your home? What are the tax advantages or disadvantages. Sounds like a good time though. You lucky dog!

I assume this is a great time to buy a used RV, people will be selling them with their financial/ job issues. I'd love to do it, my wife asked me where we will live when we retire one day, I said I don't know but the RV is turning left at the end of our cul-de-sac when we leave. She said I'd be driving alone .

If you do it, time a trip through Cali in July-Sept and I'll get you out on blacktail deer.
