    Ak-47

Hey guys I need some help. Need a gun for my dads barn, mainly will be used for pest controls around the farm. I have never owned a AK47 but have always wanted a gun that shoots 7.62 so I am thinking now is the time. Plus I know black rifle are going cheap right now. Preferably would like to get one at a gun show (I will maybe order one online if someone can give me a good company) I really do not want to go over $800 if that even possible. Be great if their was anything cheaper. Again I am not going to throw optics on it I just need a raw gun that will work. Any ideas and what do I need to look for in the gun at a show? What should I expect price wise?

You can pick up an AK for a heck of a lot cheaper than 800, but shooting pests inside an enclosed space with a 30 cal might be a bit dangerous.

*** any high powered rifle I should say

What sort of Barn pests do you have that require a 30 cal gun?

For what you have described and price range, I'd be shopping for a PCP airgun in .25 cal

Get a .22 or an air rifle.

Located in Iowa? I have one I may sell but looks like you may be too far! Easily get one well under $800!

You're going to pay a premium price at a gun show.

To be honest just coyotes, but its a excuse to finally pull the trigger (no pun intended) to buy one.

Like I mentioned earlier this is a excuse to pull the trigger to own one more then to shoot yotes with. I want to put a cheap gun that I wont care to much if it gets stolen in the barn. Are family farm is close to a 1000 acres so sound and travel is not a issue.

I get it now, the way I read it was you were going to be shooting rats inside your barn lol. That's why I said I don't think it was safe. You just meant it will stay in the barn and be shot outside at yotes.
