Your favorite Texas country song?

Just because it’s a good song and the singer is from Texas doesn’t mean it’s a great Texas country song.

To fit the OP criteria I would say “The front porch song” with “The Road goes in forever” a close second. Honorable mention to “What I like about Rexas”, “Somewhere down in Texas”, “Yesterday Road” , “Southbound 35”, and “desperadoes waiting for a train”

I spend a fair amount of time around Aspermont for work, and grew up ranching just the other side of the Brazos from there. Anyone that says there’s no red dirt in Texas is either gleefully ignorant or just a tad short on the IQ scale. I’ll be nice enough to leave it there.

I used to hunt quail all over out there, that red **** sticks to a pickup like glue. And if the wind is blowin, and it’s never not blowin, that **** will be in everything you own for months.
