What is the best knife oil?

What do you guys use to oil your knives? Was told 3 and 1 oil (machine oil). Or maybe I could just use my hoppes gun lube gun oil? Wondering what everyone uses? Thanks guys!

I use Ballistol Multi-purpose lubricant. It's worked well for me

What's your intended use for the oil? If it's for oiling the washers or bearings in a folding knife, Nano-Oil is the best. If it's for cleaning, EDCI formula by Aegis.

I use 10w30 mobil 1 on my knives and guns! I just fill a small bottle with the extra after changing my oil. Those little bottles vapers use for their juice work great!

I like to keep mine "oiled" up good with hog fat... that white stuff under the skin when you're skinnin' 'em... For fillet knives, it's fish guts...

I have a couple high carbon knives prone to rusting. I use cooking oil as I don't want a petroleum product on my meat. For stainless I just wash and put up.

Yep in all seriousness, olive oil is hard to beat...

Sam Harper had a recommendation on the knife he built for me but I've forgotten what it was. I think it was froglube oil.
