Love it! It brings back memories of my old deer lease! As some on here know, that movie set of Lonesome Dove is on our old deer lease... We had to move some of our stands out of the way when they were shooting it. The river crossing scene where the snakes get the kid, is literally 50 yards from our old camp... I've kilt turkeys n deer under those pecan trees where Woodrow buried Gus... Good times right there!

We hunted that place for awhile too. That ranch was special. Killed lots of animals on it. I heard it sold, is that true? Was a shame when they tore the set down. One of my favorite pics here

Yep, guy bought the whole place... The way it went down sure left a bad taste in Julie's and our mouth... I have pics on that same porch when my kids were little the year they finished shooting. I need to dig 'em out and scan 'em... That big gap in the cliffs where "Blue Duck" came ridin' down, one of he guys had a deer stand smack dab in the middle of that gap... Don't know whether he ever put it back or not... He had miles of wires/cables holding it in place... ain't no way I'd ever have sat in it... I had a stand right smack dab where "Gus" was buried... That's the place I missed the most, that and the Saccatosa (or Zaccatosa, depending on which sign you're readin' )

Did they tear down that bridge on the set too? That was a cool bridge.
