    Pool Heaters

Going to replace some old pool equipment.

What pool heater do yall in the know recommend? Thought I wanted to go with a RayPak, but keep hearing the warranty is voided if ordered online.

    thx

    Hey old Buddy.

I can build you one out of a 55 gallon drum, turkey fryer, and a few hundred feet of copper tubing.

I usually install the Pentair Master Temp or the Jandy JXi. Both are good units

We use Pentair equipment. Jandy for all the valves.

That sounds more like a still than a heater. How's life treating ya. Got a good lease these days?

How about a solar powered heater? Give Joe Kaminski at Texas Sunrise Solar a call

So a bit history. Started with Pentair MiniMax NT. A lot of problems initially. Then finally settled down after about 6 repairs. Last ~5 years and then went out. Repair guy 1st said needed new board. Then when he fried the new board said needed more (new blower) and it would be cheaper just to replace the thing.

That was some time ago. Went the salt water route. Now going back to chlorine.

Won't rule out Pentair, but would really like folks to tell me good stories (like they last a long time now). Or bad is ok too.

400 is the size I'd be looking for. Would you get it again... "panel replaced twice in just two years" is more like a redo for me.

Definitely would go higher end. I had no idea what was good or great.

Why the change back to chlorine?

The aquarite chlorine generator kept going out. Either the in-line module or the control panel. Never got the life out of it they advertise. After the new setup, I had gone thru 3 additional cells and one control panel. The last replacement was only a couple years ago. Stopped working last summer. Just had enough.

I liked the feel of the salt water but just wasn't worth the cost. Acid demand goes way up, acid is up in price so in the end I think much easier just to use chlorine.

So I'm going to redo my entire setup. Level the pads. Replace the heater. And add back an in-line chlorine feeder.
