    Potential career move

My wife just text me with info from a former manager of her's who's son works for Nalco. He apparently is in need of field hands and has some good incentives if I jump ship. My question for the GS is #1 anybody on here have any experience with Nalco? #2 do you think its worth giving up my 40hr guarantee in a climate controlled lab to go back in the field?

Your questions should be am I happy where I am now and am I making a good living where I am?

Will I make more money at Nalco?

Will I still have a job there in the field if business slows?

    Good luck with "your" decision.

Not really happy, but financially stable
Monetary status still to be discussed
      Good question
      Thank you

I guess mainly I just need to know any helpful info on the company itself. I've googled them but haven't gotten a "feel" for them.

Did business with Nalco at my previous company, but I honestly do not have enough info to pass along as far as what you need to know. If you are not happy it is worth a look, but there is something to be said for financially stable. I know a lot of people looking for jobs right now.

What is the stability vs what you have now? If you leave on good terms with your current company, can you come back if a position is open?

I used to work for Ecolab when they merged with Nalco. Ecolab changed their insurance plan that I didn't think at that time was great insurance. However, this was 4 years ago. Ecolab seemed to adopt a lot of Nalco's practices as they liked theirs better & incorporated those in place of some of theirs.

This would be the 2nd time I left my current company so it probably wouldn't sit too well with them. As far as stability I'm content but I'm used to being out in the field and miss the offshore money (as does the rest of oil workers) and I'm just plain "bored" so when I received word about this potential opportunity I figured that I would at least look into it.

What kind of projects did they do? The story I'm getting is chemical distribution for fracking? The main flow of information is being relayed by my wife and hiring guy's mom so it is limited.
