    Game Warden Question: Need Guidance.

I need to remove some coons that are causing issues with feeders and at a friends where they are causing issues around their house and chicken pens. I was planning on using Dukes traps.

I was looking over the regulations and saw that if I am not selling the pelts that a hunting license is all I need. But then I read that I could only use leg hold traps during the commercial season (Nov1 to March 31). Does this mean I can't use traps?

I also read that I could take them year round if they are causing a nuisance. What proof do I need to have that they are causing an issue?

You are not selling the pelts.. you just need a hunting license. End of story. Happy trapping..

But when you look under legal methods it says leghold traps are only legal durring commercial season.

And don't forget to post your kill totals in the coon carnage thread.

You are eliminating nuisance coons, acting as an agent of the property owner.
