    Spike is nasty stuff

75% diesel and 25% remedy is what we use. You can use water and a surfactant with a blue dye to keep track of the ones you hit

Remedy will kill the mesquite well. For foliar spraying, you need remedy/reclaim, or some Sendero. To kill cedar, you really need something with picloram in it (Tordon is brand name). Remedy isn't really that effective on cedar. If it was, more pro folks would use it, cause it's a lot cheaper than Tordon.

Spike will kill cedar, but it's pretty expensive.

It will kill everything close to the application site as well.
Yes, Spike 80W and 20P will kill everything except grass for years. It is activated by rain to translocate to the roots. Mostly used on power line rights of way.

Spike 980W is a restricted use herbicide and Spike 20P is not, but if you kill the neighbors' trees, you can be held liable for it. And oak and pecan trees are expensive.

This works well too, if you have a few to spot treat. You don't need to score the bark, but I highly recommend you wait at least 3 months to remove the dead tree because any earlier you could just remove the topside and the roots could recover.

For a fence line, the SPIKE mentioned above is awesome, but be careful bc I believe it is a soul sterilizer and kills everything for a long time.
For mesquite, I used to spray 2oz remedy/ 2oz Tordon per gallon of water, spot spraying foliar. Wait until about June to spray. Remedy and diesel works well basal spraying but it gets pricey.
Never had to deal with mesquite.
Yes, that is pricy and runs about the same as Sendora, which runs about $175 /gallon, but Sendora has a 98% effectiveness rate. Spray late may or June, can spray aerial or tank spray with booms. If you can boom spray, it will obviously be cheaper than aerial. This is why I asked earlier. Sendora requires an oil based surfactant, too. Sendora will also kill cedar and honey locust. I'll have to re-read the label, but I think it is safe for oaks, as long as you don't spray the canopy. In other words, you can spray around it but not under or on it.

Spike 80W is a RUP, however Spike 20P is not. Same result but I'll bet the Spike 20 doesn't last nearly as long as the 80W.
