Fellas, I have a spring black bear hunt booked in May for coastal BC. Off of Vancouver Island. I've bear hunted before but no luck as yet, and never spot and stalk archery. Any advice would be helpful. Broadhead recommendation etc. I'm bringing my rifle also in case I can't connect after several days. Thanks!

I've never done spot-n-stalk black bear with archery equipment, but I was able to get in pretty close with a rifle. We were hunting the coastal areas of Alaska (out of Homer) vs BC. All of the bears we saw were feeding. Most would come out to low tide beaches / marsh and feed out there.
Are you hunting by boat or are you completely on foot?

Tips for spot and stalk archery bear hunt
I'm going last week of May. The outfitter says in April and early May it's out of boats for new grass on the waters edge. Late in May when I'm going they are apparently on logging roads. We are living on a boat and traveling via boat but I think hunting roads. I'm mainly concerned about gear that I didn't think of. Is there a way comfortably carry a bow for 8 hrs?

A couple of the bear hunts I've done off coastal Alaska north of Juneau were from a boat while glassing the shore. Once you spot a shooter, land the skif downwind quietly & then slowly work up the shore hugging the tree line if possible.
Consider wearing dark tennis shoes for best mobility & grip on the rocks.
You can definitely close the distance to bow range
Good luck

you will thank yourself if you have these in the rocks........resting on your knees without pads is no fun.
For rough operations, protect yourself with Blackhawk Advanced Tactical Knee Pad V2. These pads feature a new dual injection-molded flex cap design to maximize movement and comfort without giving up the slightest bit of protection. The closed-cell foam padding absorbs shock in heavy-impact situations and resists water absorption when treading through water. Adjustable to fit any knee, these pads feature a contoured interior ledge to secure their positioning and a 600 Denier nylon shell to shield your knees from impact. When you strap on these pads, you'll be assured of maximum comfort and movement while protecting your knees from the dangers of your operation.

Gotcha! No advice for you but good luck. I would suspect it's like spot-n-stalk on a sendero.

An outfit called coastal inlet adventures. They were recommended by Bowhunting Safari Consultants (booking agent). Oscar put me on to this booking agent and they were pretty sharp. They gave me a list of stuff but just wondering if I'm missing something ( like the knee pads suggested here).

Tips for spot and stalk archery bear hunt
I was bear hunting a decade ago in far northern Cal up towards Oregon. If you google 'Marble Mountain Wilderness Area' it gives an idea of how far past the middle of nowhere we drove on paved roads, then 26 miles up a national forest road to an old logging camp. That started the hunt!
One dusk I was in camo with a bug suit over my head, leaning against a big pine on the side of the mountain- staying near a trail. I was afraid if Dave and I both fell or got injured, we'd die- there was nobody for 20 miles in any direction.
I hear a twig snap above me, and a huge black bear is standing in a berry patch 60 yards above me. He was sniffing in Dave's direction, caught his scent. After a minute the bear had enough and took off away from the smell- straight down the mountain towards me. At 20 yards I though I would mess my pants, and finally raised and started drawing my bow.
The bear saw the motion, and was more scared of me than I him and took off at an angle away down the mountain.
No shots on bear, but I still remember the shakes and prayers of thanks for being alive.
That's my spot and stalk bear story.
