    Leveling kit installation cost?

I bought a new F150 on Friday night and ordered a 2.5" leveling kit for it. I know that the spacers are probably pretty easy to do DIY but am curious what I might pay for installation + allignment. The dealer wanted $700 installed . The parts are $60 and the allignment is usually $75-100. I was told it's about a 2 hr job.

Very easy to do. Take about 2 hours at most. If you have tools and a jack you can easily do it yourself.

Will dealer honor warranty if you do it yourself? I had a GM way back when that any modification to drive angles voided warranty on those part, and anything connected. Or at least that's what I was told.

I've had quite a few of those done third party and depending on model etc usually about $200-250 including parts and labor.

Ok just called around and Trout Tire in Porter will install the kit for $120 and do the allignment for $69.50. That's cheaper than I was expecting. For $189 I don't think I'm gonna do it myself. $244 parts and labor is a whole lot better than the $700 Ford wanted.

I thought that they had to prove that the modifications CAUSED the part (whatever it was) to fail, before they could deny warranty work.

For example, if your fuel pump went out, they couldn't deny warranty work because you had a lift on the truck, without proving that the lift caused the pump to go out.

^^ This is what I was told by dealer when I asked about it Friday. It has to be proven to have directly caused the problem.

This^. Don't let a dealer fool you. The Magnuson-Moss Act protects owners from being denied warranty claims based on modifications that did not cause the problem that needs warranty work.

I'm just doing the 2.5" solid billet spacers. There are several brands out there for under $100. I bought the SDT kit for 2015-2017 F150 from Amazon for 54.95 free shipping. I am going to run 275/65r20 which is a 34" tire and is 10.8" wide or a 305/55r20 which is a 33.2" tire and is 12" wide. With a leveling kit there should be no rubbing.

I would do it for $200 so it sounds like you're getting a good deal.

I paid $30 for used metal 1 1/4" spacers. Installed myself on my '14 F150 and then paid $90 for an alignment that is good for 1 year.
