    Anyone own a mahindra 2538?

I was looking hard at an LS tractor but yesterday the local mahindra dealer made me an offer I may not be able to refuse. They have the mahindra 2538 hydrostatic trans listed for 24000$. They offered it to me for 20,000$ after I showed them my quote for a 40 hp LS tractor. I would also get a 1000$ cash mail in rebate.

I was very happy with the tractor. I putted around on it for 15 min and even lifted a round bale with it.

Anyone have any experience with it or own one ?

Check out ChuckE2009's review on it on Youtube. He's had a lot of problems but he said he still wouldnt buy anything different. Its worth a watch

Looking into getting a Massey myself. I'm staying away from hydrostatic trans and going with old school shuttle trans. Heard about lots of problems with Mahindras. LS is supposed to be a great tractor per my Massey dealer who also deals with LS.

Try a kubota. Youll love it, things to look at also are how is there service after the sale, will they deliver it for free with the sale? Drive and operate them both sometimes the cheaper price isnt worth it

Brother and son both have Mahindra tractors, don't recall models but they're in the 50 hp range. Dig-push-load- clear brush neither one has had a problem.

I have one, its been good to me. I have heard there is a slave pump in the tranny I believe that basically pumps the oil back to the top up over the gears or something that are problems sometimes, I have been told. Mine has not as of yet. Only problem I had is throttle linkage tends to stick behind floor board (for foot control) and occasionally up on the block. Oil or lube works for a while but that just tends to gather dirt and crud and makes it worse. Anyway, love mine.

I'm interested in this as well, because I'm thinking of buying a new one. I have a Kubota M5700 right now, and it has been an excellent tractor for what I do. Growing food plots and mowing are my main uses. I need ( want ) a front loader and front wheel assist. So many times I've needed a front bucket ( for something simple ) when my backhoe was on another place. I'll probably stick with Kubota, but several thousand dollars less can change a guy's mind.

Well I took the dive. Just signed on it. It gets delivered Wednesday. After more negotiation I walked out with the tractor, a heavy duty 6' shredder, 66" box blade for 23,000, and a 1000$ mail in rebate. So basically 22k. Delivery to my ranch is free and I talked them into free tire sealant which runs 400$. All in all I'm happy! I took the day off work Wednesday to put her to work!

Sounds like you got a great deal. Enjoy it!

I have an older 25 horse Mahindra (shuttle) and have zero complaints.

I have 2 of the 4025s. One 4x4 and the other just a 2 wheel drive to mow with. They are frigging work horses.

Where did you buy it and what kind of financing incentives are they offering?

I put mine through hell when I first got it and it never backed down. It's gets light uses every month now and should last me a life time.
The front end loader on it is impressive for a smaller tractor.

Since you've pulled the trigger this is irrelevant, but I stopped by and priced a Yanmar 221 (23hp), fel, mid-mount mowing deck- and box blade $14,375 delivered. Now I just gotta convince momma just how much I need one.
