Yep I've seen a few brought in from the bank and some from the airboats.

I'll be up that way in June. Got family coming in and we're going to get after some stripers!

It's a good place for it.

There used to be some fresh water eels there too. They'd grab your hook-n-bait and pull it down into the rocks. Hard as the devil to gettem out.

I fished the release side of the dam about 18 years ago. Used to catch a ton of striper.

How is everyone fishing it these days? Are you fishing before or during the water release?

Thanks? I'd like to take my 5 year old boy up there next week.

Growing up on the River just downstream from the dam I can vouch for how good the fishing used to be before stripers got in there. The river downstream is no where near as productive as it was back in the 50's thru the early 70's. Catfishing and sand bass was great back then. Stripers have pretty much ruined the river all the way down to below Paris where the water gets deeper. Some of the feeder creeks like Bois d'arc, Caney, Blue, Boggy and Muddy Boggy still hold some good cats but not like it used to.

You think the Stripers eat the cats?

Maybe, I'm guessing it's more about them eating everything else. Hellacious competition for a catfish. On the other hand, Texoma is full of stripers, and the catfish get big.

I didn't go to fish , just checking out the area. But I'll be there in a few weeks to do some damage.
