    Fox hide tanning question

I have a gray fox skin in the freezer. I would like to get it tanned if it's not too expensive. About how much is a fox skin tanned for? If it's too much I probably won't. But I'm not wasting something I killed. I picked it up fresh dead on the road. I know you're not supposed to do that but i hated to see it go to waste.
Also, how long will it keep in the freezer?

It'll keep a long time in the freezer as long as it's stored properly. I have a red fox I'm gonna get tanned. The taxidermist said $150 if I remember right but it probably just depends on who's doing it. My taxidermist said it'd cost less if it's skinned out already.

Check out north Texas tannery if I remember correctly they wanted $55 for a bobcat. You overnight it with dry ice.

Did you freeze it whole? My experience with roadkill critters hasn't been good, very good chance intestinal fluids were leaked inside the carcass, any green places on skin/leather more times than not results in slippage/very poor results. If not skinned skin animal, if skinned inspect thoroughly for any green stain. If I remember right a simple soft tan should run a little north of $50, but don't hold me to that I haven't sent anything in for several years.

Yeah it's case skinned. It was in remarkably good condition. All damage was to the head
