Our current house plan has a carport rather than a garage. I also want to build a shop for boat/ranger/zero turn storage. In my head I am thinking of building the shop on the end of the carport all under the same roof. Have any of you guys done this? If so would you care to share your opinion. Pics would be GREAT!

A former neighbor had a nice set up. He had a 2 car wide carport that was directly in front of a 2 car garage. On the back side it also had a single rollup door so you could essentially drive under the carport and through the garage if you wanted to. It was a metal building / car port. Also a breezy place to sit and enjoy a cold one under the carport.Comment

Is the carport already on the house?
If this is a completely new build, I'd design the car port portion so that you can close it in, down the road ... because you will.Comment
