Typically when I figure out it's a telemarketer, I will respond for 15-20 seconds and then go radio-silent. I had one guy stay on the line for a full 5 minutes with dead air before I finally told him I wasn't interested.

Hey!! I just clucked like a chicken at a guy named "BOB" who was giving me a federal grant from the FEDERAL GRANT OFFICE! His English was so bad he thought I was speaking English!! Good news! I'm getting 100,000 in free grants!

This thread is what I needed. I switch my cell number to a local one. And looks like the lady that had it before me "Michelle" has Applied for every payday loan in the country. And I get 3-6+ calls and texts from them.
Im a pumper so I have no problem wasting their time.

I had a job recruiter with a strong indian accent call me today about a position in Chicago, IL. I told him I wasn't interested and he started begging for me to help him out. It was actually in my field and he was begging me to reconsider or pass it on to my friends in the field. He was saying he would do whatever it took for him to represent me.
I told him I wanted to go on a dangerous game safari. Something hunting lions, hippos, elephants, etc. He was like we'll see what we can do. So I had to kick it up a notch, and told him that he would have to go with me. I asked have you ever shot a gun to which he said no. So I told him that he would have to be without a weapon and I would need him to be out in front so I could keep an eye on him and that I would protect him from 20-30 yards back. He quickly said he could not do that.
