The musk odor is only part of their defense, after they calm down they will not stink. Actually make good pets, doscile and just will not bite.

They are a cool snake for sure . He was relocated a few miles down the road to the river bottom

Been years since I saw one. Last one I saw I was picking dewberrys with my dad, that hognose was in the vines. Made me step back until I figured out he wasn't venomous. Cool snake. He crawled away.
