Yamaha Viking VI - reviews needed

    Hi all,

I am looking for someone who has first hand info about the Yamaha Viking VI side by side...

I like the look of them and the seating, but can't find much user/owner info yet.

Looking for info about mechanics, dependability, craftsmanship, power, and any issues. Thanks!

Have a friend who bought one this year. Hasn't had it long enough to have any problems. Sure looks like a sweet ride. Anything Yamaha is probably gonna be okay.

Yamaha has excellent quality. I have a 99 grizzly 600 that still runs strong and I've taken it everywhere and towed everything with it. Also have an 09 rhino 700 that runs strong.
Both are on the louder end of engines.

I don't know about the viking itself but yamaha will last. I looked at them at one point and they only had the 700 engine in it. I thought that would be underpowered. 700 isnt the quietest engine either.

I have hunted with a guy for 3 years that has one. He absolutely loves it. Having driven most of the side-by-sides out there at one point or another, I like the Viking the best. It is a sweet machine.

I really wanted to like the viking. But, with my wife using the machine on the farm it was important that she liked it. Major problem is she could not reach the pedals. She is 5'-3".

We ended up going a different route.

The drivers seat is adjustable. Did it not have enough adjustment?

            I have a 2017 Viking VI.

We love it. Its got enough room for everyone and all the gear. We drive it to the ball field, trail riding, around town (small farm town, police dont bother).

Its faster than a polaris ranger 900, its governed at 53mph with plenty of pedal left.

We adjusted it to the most forward setting and she was an inch or two away. But everyone is different so I recommend trying it out.

From all my research the machine is solid. Could use more bed capacity (600 lbs is real light compare to other brands).

I have had mine for 3 years only thing I have to do is routine maintenance. Super smooth on the hill country rocks and can get through all the mud you can throw at it. Super comfortable with 4 large hunters in it with room for gear and everything. I test drove everything and ended up getting the Viking.
If I had a complaint it would be factory tires are not agrees ice enough for me and if it could be lifted a little for visibility for hunting but those are cosmetic and don't effect function.
